Texte tiré de la documentation officielle:

In the permanent exhibition you will discover games from all over the world. You will pass through China with Mah-Jong, Japan with Go, Africa with Awari, and then the Near East and India with Pachisi. The tour continues with the ultimate strategy game: Chess. Take time to admire the wealth of artistic pieces and then discover the room dedicated to card games where a game of Belote or Jass await you. At the same time, indulge in a visit of the casino and lottery games and particular the quite exceptional collection of slot machines dating from the 1900's until today. (...)

The Museum is child friendly. For children of 6 +, a teaching box can be obtained at the reception. Observe, touch, listen to, guess… it invites all children and their families to discover the different secrets of the Museum.(...)

The outdoor trail of games awaits you every day even when the Museum is closed. Come and discover some well known and some not so well known outdoor games.

HappyKid comment:

Entrance to the museum is free for children under 6 but, surprisingly, not much is available for them. This is a museum in a historical castle and not a game center. As a matter of fact, strollers are not allowed in the castle (!).

The visit is quite interesting for older kids though and workshops on game-related themes are regularly run with the Alimentarium (see HappyCamper). Not to be missed is the extraordinary "Castle of Games" day, held annually, in September, to try your hand at 1001 games from here and elsewhere, inside and outside castle walls (see HappyAgenda).
