Arboretum at Aubonne's valley

Texte tiré de la documentation officielle:
A walk in the heart of nature, far from the hustle of roads and cities, to discover trees from around the world. Unique in Switzerland, the National Arboretum is a vast park displaying collections of over 6500 tree and shrub species and varieties from all continents that can be acclimatized to our region. The Vallon de l'Aubonne Arboretum was created in 1968. It covers an area of approximately 130 hectares within an agricultural and forested area of approximately 200 hectares. The Arboretum pursues a scientific, educational, and recreational objective: to promote knowledge and appreciation of trees. Everyone can explore the Arboretum at their leisure, according to their interests and available time, or simply to stroll in a peaceful, natural setting. Upon paying the entrance fee, anyone can visit freely throughout the year. It is open day and night. A leaflet and various publications can be obtained at reception or by contacting the secretariat directly.
HappyKid comment:
The Arboretum is a magical place, where nature flourishes and invites us to a thousand discoveries throughout the seasons: - Sublime in spring with the flowering trees and the frogs croaking in the pond... - Magnificent in summer with the freshness of the trees and streams and... - Sumptuous in autumn with the colors of the leaves creating beautiful scenes through which we can stroll... - Peaceful and uncluttered in winter, the park remains open even when nature is at rest. Our family loves and highly recommends it. Walks and wonderful moments to share are guaranteed: the program of guided tours, family activities, and other festivities is fantastic! The Explorer's "Musette" is available free of charge at reception and invites us to observe the unique features of the tree species, the diversity of the trees, and the biodiversity of this magnificent ecosystem with the kids. A magnifying glass, notebook, binoculars, a glass tube, a notebook, and pencils are provided, along with 10 turnkey activities (from 4-5 years old to 10-12 years old). The Fred the Beaver Rally is aimed primarily at ages 8 to 14-15 and allows for a better understanding of the forest (available for sale in the shop). The Buvette offers ice cream for CHF 1.-, apple juice from the Arboretum orchard, and various delicious homemade pastries and jarred dishes (vegetarian or with meat). It goes without saying that this nature reserve, a giant botanical garden in the heart of nature, home to wild flora and fauna, deserves all our consideration and respect: do not litter it and dogs must be kept on a lead and their droppings must be picked up.
