Week-long Summer camps - Red Whale Swim School

Who can attend?

Any child older than12 months. Children of all abilities and experience are welcome.  Beginners are especially welcome.  There is no upper age limit. If your child can swim 50m of controlled freestyle, then our pool is too small for them.

​Parents in the water?

Children are accompanied by an adult in the water until they are comfortable putting their head in the water and holding their breath for 3 seconds.

​How it works:

Each camp is one week long (Monday to Friday)  Children attend one lesson every day at the same time for a week. They will be with children of similar age/ability. Lessons are 40 minutes each.  Lesson are presented in English, however our teachers speak French, so French speaking children are welcome to attend.  We always demonstrate a skill to the children (rather than just tell them) , so can teach children with different language skills in the same class.

​​Lessons for Children 4  years of age  and younger are in the morning, between 9:30 and midday.  Lessons for children 5 and older are in the afternoon between 13:30 and 17:00.  Once you register your child, their level will be assessed.  Based on their level, we allocate them to the appropriate group  and communicate the exact lesson time.

​Our summer camps are held in 2 private heated (28c)  outdoor pools  in Divonne.  An ozone  and/or salt water treatment system is used (not chlorine).  We will send an information kit when you register with all details regarding location, parking, facilities etc.

​Why Red Whale is different:

Our class sizes are relatively small (max 4 kids per teacher) , and all of our teachers are always in the water, to ensure that every child (or parent) receives personal attention.

Kids are in the water and active for the entire lesson. There is no waiting around on the pool deck.

​We follow the teaching methodology widely used  in countries  Australia, USA  and the UK whereby the teachers will always demonstrate skills in the water, rather than give instructions from the side of the pool.

​We create a comfortable, and fun environment for children in a  boutique setting.  ​
